Safety Services
Alaska Power Association offers a variety of safety materials and services designed for utilities.
Environmental Assistance
Alaska Power Association hosts the Environmental Regulations Committee (ERC) that provides member utilities with a voice to the EPA and Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC). Comprised of environmental professionals, utility employees, consultants and others, and assisted by Alaska Power Association environmental staff, the ERC addresses a spectrum of environmental issues of interest to Alaska utilities. Alaska Power Association offers links to various regulators, keeps members informed of regulatory developments, provides coordination of response procedures, and advises government agencies on environmental regulations.
Security
Educational videotapes for employee training are available for our members. Plus, a variety of consultants and comprehensive materials are easily accessible from the Alaska Power Association staff. Sources for our extensive collection of security information include the US Department of Energy (DOE), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the National Infrastructure Protection Council (NIPC).
