ARECA Technical School
The ARECA Technical School is a post-secondary institution that is administered by the ARECA Training Council (ATC). The school offers the following diplomas and certificates:
Electrical Power Production Technician: Employees of ATC member utilities who enroll with the ARECA Technical School will have their experience and training evaluated by the ATC. Credit is given for previous education that is supported by transcripts or similar documents. Individuals will then be placed in the program at a level commensurate with their experience and education.
- Production Technician Apprenticeship Program (PTAP): The U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Apprenticeship Training (BAT) offers a certificate for completing PTAP training. Individuals hired by an ATC member utility registered with the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship Training (BAT) must register the apprentice with the BAT. Upon completion of the ARECA Production Technician Training Program, these individuals earn a diploma in Electrical Power Production from the ARECA Technical School and a certificate from the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Apprenticeship Training stating that they completed a U.S. Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program. - Diesel Operator/Mechanic: ATC member utilities that operate and maintain diesel-powered generation plants may register their individuals with the ARECA Technical School in the Diesel Operator/Mechanic Program.
- Hydro Electric/Mechanic: ATC member utilities that operate and maintain hydroelectric generation plants may register their individuals with the ARECA Technical School in the Hydroelectric Operator/Mechanic Program.
- Also available are a certificate of completion for Power Principles and a certificate of completion for General and Mechanical Maintenance.
